Cerines Supper Club
Amidst the symphony of raindrops and thunder echoing outside, a group of foodies gathered at Cerines, a charming supper club, for a Friendsgiving dinner that promised not only a delicious feast but also an unforgettable experience. The evening began with handcrafted cocktails in the elegant Blue Room, setting the tone for a night of camaraderie and gratitude. From the carefully curated drinks to the traditional Thanksgiving feast and delectable desserts, every moment at Cerines was infused with warmth and the spirit of togetherness.
Cocktail Hour in the Blue Room:
The festivities kicked off in the Blue Room, where the air was filled with laughter and the clinking of glasses. Our lovely host crafted a special menu of cocktails, each with its own unique twist. A signature drink of the evening, aptly named the “Cranberry Orange Bourbon Sour,” combined seasonal flavors like cranberry along with Kentucky Bourbon, Fireball, fresh citrus sour and ginger beer, creating a refreshing and festive beverage that perfectly captured the essence of the occasion. Of course, we had to try the Cerines House Punch no. 135 also which was campari infused with rosemary, bourbon and Cypriot honey. Sounds divine, doesn’t it.
Guests mingled in the cozy ambience, enjoying the appetisers. To name a few – the onion and butternut squash fritters. Where crispy onions meet creamy squash, lightly fried, perfect to pair with cocktails. Next up we had chicken liver pate. Liver soaked overnight in frankincense-infused brandy, served on crostini. Lets not forget the savory corn muffins filled with tomato chutney and topped with delicious savory mascarpone. The Blue Room, with its plush seating and dim lighting, provided the ideal setting for friends to reconnect and share stories before the grand dinner.
Feast at the Dinner Table:
As the cocktails were pouring, guests were ushered to their beautifully adorned dinner tables. The scent of roasted turkey and comforting spices wafted through the air, whetting appetites and creating a sense of anticipation. Each place setting featured personalized name cards, adding a touch of intimacy to the gathering.
The dinner at Cerines was nothing short of a Thanksgiving extravaganza. The menu featured classic dishes prepared with a modern twist, showcasing the culinary expertise of our wonderful hosts, Thomas and Ioanna. From succulent brined and roasted Tom turkey with gravy to creamy mashed potatoes and sausage fig stuffing, every bite was a celebration of traditional Thanksgiving flavors, to name a few. I was able to enjoy gluten-free stuffing and my very own gluten free mac and cheese side dish. The dishes were beautifully paired with a Sauvignon 2022 which had notes of green apple, honey and peach aftertaste as well as a Primitivo di Manduria 2019 with notes of nuts and clove on the nose and a black cherry and fig aftertaste. The communal atmosphere at the table encouraged sharing and seconds, creating a true sense of family and friendship.
Delicious Traditional Thanksgiving Desserts:
No Friendsgiving dinner would be complete without indulging in a variety of mouthwatering desserts. Cerines did not disappoint, presenting a dessert spread that included pumpkin pie, tarts, homemade pumpkin spice gelato and chocolate brownie. I was astonished by the personal touch with my very own gluten-free butternut squash pie. Each bite was a sweet reminder of the season’s bounty and a perfect ending to the delightful evening.
Conclusion:
Cerines, with its enchanting ambiance, delectable cuisine, and attentive service, proved to be the perfect venue for a Friendsgiving celebration. The combination of cocktails in the Blue Room, a sumptuous Thanksgiving feast, and irresistible desserts created an atmosphere of joy and gratitude. As the night came to a close, friends left Cerines with full hearts and satisfied palates, carrying with them memories of a Friendsgiving dinner that truly embodied the spirit of the season.
